Backpacking day 7 of 12.
Day six we had planned on tramping up and over Baton Saddle and getting to a hut in the valley on the other side, but when we reached the top of the saddle we couldn’t bring our selves to leave. It was an absolutely gorgeous view. We decided instead to stay the night just over the saddle and do some extra kilometers the next day. Few Found a tarn and made camp by it. Spent the rest of the day relaxing in the sunshine and watched the sunset. May 2009, Kahurangi National Park, Aotearoa.
